If photography stops a moment in time, filmmaking puts memory in motion.
If photography recreates what the human eye can see,
filmmaking recreates what the spiritual eye can do.
If photography shows a human body,
filmmaking presents a soul in motion.
Photography works as the word.
Film acts as the verb.
Through photography we can reach imagination,
Through filmmaking we may conquer intuition.

Because of COVID-19, we could not go back to where we live (Vienna) together with my wife. So our stay in Uruguay became longer, and our plans changed radically because of the global situation. I was going to sleep, thinking everyday about the idea of making a film which was a prayer at the same time. I remembered that Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, wrote many prayers and intentions for the pandemics of 1918 and WWI. His texts suddenly became one of the most helpful during this pandemics and also for soldiers in war trenches of that time. So for this "visual prayer" I took one of this texts, and directed this film, also with the intention of bringing some helpful thoughts for this historical moment we are living as human beings. The text was not written directly by Steiner but was written as an inspiration from his conferences in Berlin in 1910 called “The essence of Prayer” (GA59). This film was shot in the neigbourhood I grew up in, in the seaside of Punta Ballena, Uruguay. I did it with the resources I had in hand (luckily I brought filming equipment in my backpack) and also with the help of my wife as the actress.
